D865GLC-HYB Ehternet controller issues

Postby SRDragon » Tue Nov 10, 2009 12:47 pm

Hello, as I stated in message line I have about 30 D865xxx systems and a few of them have been having issues where from a cold boot the NIC is not recognized. Some take between 20minutes to 2 hours to come up. I have downloaded new drives and that has not helped. After the boot up I can't go into Device Manager, Network Connections. Not sure why this is happening it is spreading as well. Any input would be appreciated.

Thank you,

Paul

Not that this is some kind of smoking gun, but Intel says the leaking capacitors shouldn't be a problem:

And of course, there is always this:

http://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=1852

We have a number of these systems (I think they were actually sold as ClientPro 345) and have had a few lose the on-board ethernet, or have flakey network access. We just put in a PCI NIC and called it good, and as far as I can remember, only replaced one motherboard out of about 75 for bad caps.

Might be worth a gander at the motherboards, but even if you do find bad caps, you're pretty much screwed with the liquidation.

I am looking for the whole set of drivers for the client pro 345.

I need to do a windows reinstall and need to make sure I can get everything reinstalled and the network card and usb works, etc.

Thanks

Had exactly the same problem with about 40 of the same model MPCs that we use in a computer lab. Went into the Bios and disabled the internal NIC. and added 10/100 NIC cards, they run faultlessly and boot up and are on the network in less than a minute Cost of the card 8.95 from here http://www.cyberguys.com/product-detail ... uctid=1584
