I have an old gateway computer that I'm trying to fix up. The model # is mfatxstl elp 500c. The Serial # is 0025393778. I'd like to get some specs on it, but I can't seem to find any anywhere on the net. The powersupply is also blown, so I need a new powersupply, and I'm wondering if any old power supply will work or if I need a specific one. If so, where's the best place to find one? Similar situation with Gateway MFATXSTL ELP 500C, Serial # 0025924492 and can find no relevant info on the Gateway site. Intermittent booting problem and "something smells hot." When PC sits for awhile, it will boot and run for an hour or so. Then, it shuts down and the power button turns yellow (orange) and the PC will not boot.

Would like to dig into it some more, but would like some sort of layout / manual / specs. Thanks -- Jim

PS - I believe the MATX refers to the motherboard form factor (micro-ATX) and ELP stands for the Intel El Paso motherboard. I did just find these links which may be of some help (still need to confirm they match this PC):
