Is there anywhere to get drivers and bios for gateway 600ygr

I have been trying to find out where to find drivers for my gateway 600ygr laptop
I just reformated the computer and did reinstall all the drivers on the red cd the computer came with. In the device manager everything seems to be working properly
But i remmeber I was having issues when MPC actually helped me out by updating my bios.
My problem right now is that the dvd/cd Some cds will work others won't
My other question would be if I reformated does this wipe out the last bios i updated to?
It may just be my cd/dvd as the computer is about 8 years old.
I maxed it out with 1 gig memory and got a larger HD. So i was trying to save it for a while longer if possible

wiping out or formatting your hard drive will not affect your bios. The bios is stored on a chip on the motherboard and won't be affected by hard drive issues. Sounds like your drive may be dying of old age.
