Based on the 1995 novel by Gregory Maguire, Wicked the musical is currently Broadway’s number one musical, defeating box office records and has one over 50 major awards for it’s electrifying energy. Since the first show in 2003, Wicked the musical has been nothing but a success. So what makes the untold story of the witches of Oz so popular, and why are wicked tickets so high in demand?

1. The Intrigue: Don’t You Want to Know Both Sides of the story?

Wicked the musical has become one of the most well known Broadway shows of the decade. I’d say that this is because of it’s intrigue. I mean, don’t we all want to know the villain’s side of the story? I sure do! There are so many great venues where Wicked the musical plays, but one in particular which always comes to mind when Wicked is mentioned, is Broadway. Anyone who I’ve talked to that has seen Wicked on Broadway absolutely loved the experience. Who wouldn’t, right? They talked non-stop about the lights, the sounds, the music and the overall amazing experience that they’d gained. And plus, have you ever even really experienced New York City if you haven’t seen a Broadway musical?

Kudos to Stephen Schwartz, the extremely talented composer who nursed the Wicked’s soundtrack to life.
